The Huts

 

The trading huts are open on Su

nday mornings for the sale of compost, fertilisers and chemicals to members. The huts are on the Loughborough Road, Burleigh Road and Stamford Road sites. Membership is open to plot holders and gardeners in Rushcliffe.

A lady came to one of the trading huts late in 2022 with a written history of the Society which we think was compiled by her deceased Father

WBRHS Trip

 

Friday 13th Feb - Meet at 11am

A tour and walk through Woods and Gardens to view Winter Snowdrops at Holme Pierrepont Hall

 

Sat Nav : NG12 2LD - Please make your own way there Parking is on grass

 

Garden Entry : £7.00 pp (Cash) - Pay at gate

 

The Coffee truck will be there selling refreshments, (including wonderful cake) which can be consumed in the Long Room.

NB : There are slip and trip hazards associated with woodland walks. This trip is no suitable for those in wheelchairs or those that struggle walking on undulating ground. Stout footwear is recommended especially with current wet weather conditions

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)

Wednesday 18th February 2026

 

The AGM will be held on Wednesday 18th February 2026 at the West Bridgford Sports Club (Rugby Club),Stamford Road NG2 6GF. The meeting will begin at 7.30pm. The AGM will be followed by refreshments, and a talk by Simon Smith. Simon has been the Judge of the Vegetable Section of our Annual Show for the last

two years. The subject of his talk will be “50 Top Tips for Growing Vegetables”. Please let us know if you are likely to attend. dickcrofts@hotmail.co.uk

 

 

BEST KEPT ALLOTMENT COMPETITION

This will be held on either 21st or 28th June. If you are able and willing to enter your allotment plot please let your Plot Trustee know. In additional, there is also a section for NEW PLOT HOLDERS for each Allotment site.

 

 

ANNUAL SHOW 2025

The date for the 2026 Annual Show is set for Saturday 5th September at St Pauls Church Hall on Boundary Road. Make sure you save the date.

 

Membership

 

Membership is open to allotment holders and private gardeners living in Rushcliffe. The society sells fertilisers , compost, pesticides and fungicides. There is a seed scheme with Kings seeds of Colchester which generally gives 40% discount. A show is held early in September with vegetable, flower, floral art, home produce and children’s classes. The society also runs three trips a year to places of interest to gardeners. To join the society go to one of the society huts on Loughborough Road or Stamford Road allotment sites on a Sunday morning.
